Edie Miller

Edie Miller
Varsity Head Coach

Coach Edie Miller has over 15 years of coaching experience. She began coaching after graduating college when she began her teaching career. A year after having her first child, she realized she wanted to be a stay at home mom and left the busy world of full time coaching and teaching behind. However, she never completely left coaching as she was a private coach to several athletes while her children were young. Her youngest child brought her out of her sabbatical when at age 11 she discovered volleyball. Coach Edie began coaching her daughter’s team and hasn’t stopped since. She has a passion for teaching youth life lessons through volleyball. “Volleyball is a tool we can use to help our kiddos learn some tough life lessons. We teach them mental toughness, hard work, selfless team work, commitment, leadership, self control, and so much more. I believe that at the end of the season if players have learned to be better volleyball players and even win the big championship, but have learned nothing else, then I have failed as their coach.” Before becoming a homeschool parent, Coach Edie taught and coached at two private schools in San Antonio for 5 years. She then taught and coached at Floresville for 3 years. Before coming to the Saints, she coached for FEAST for 6 years with two of those years as the head varsity the coach. When Coach Edie began coaching the FEAST JV team, she took a struggling team who had won very few sets the year before and led them to a 4th place finish at the Homeschool National Championship in Omaha, Nebraska. The following year her JV team played for the National Championship placing second in the nation. The next year, Coach Edie took the job of FEAST head varsity coach which only had two returning players. She and her mighty JV team from the year before stepped up to the varsity level and won the 3A National Homeschool Championship. The following year her team yet again played for the national championship title, placing second. Coach Edie is also a USAV club coach and coaches year round. She is a member of USAV and AVCA. She is GMS trained as well as Impact certified, referee certified, and Safe Sport certified.

“Leaving FEAST was not an easy decision. I left behind some amazing athletes and families who I love dearly. So many of the players I coached there will always have a special place in my heart. However, I am beyond excited to have this opportunity to be on the ground floor of this new Saints volleyball program. The Saint’s leadership believe that we are raising the bar for the homeschool community for the city of San Antonio by offering what most every other major city in the US with competitive homeschool volleyball offers- a competitive choice.”

Jeni Vega
Junior Varsity Head Coach
Middle School B Head Coach

Coach Jeni was part of the San Antonio Saints inaugural season her senior year. Jeni grew to love volleyball at the age of 10 and played competitively through high school. Her volleyball career came to an end because of a major knee injury.

Jeni is a full-time college student on full scholarship at the University of Texas at San Antonio. Though her volleyball career ended sooner than she had wanted, her love for the game never faded. She is excited to be a part of our coaching staff and we are grateful to have her!
