National Homeschool Volleyball Tournament 2022 Day 2

Day two at the NHSVT was an exciting one for Saints Volleyball!

Junior Varsity

The JV started their day playing the Houston Homeschool Athletics Mavericks. They won the match in two sets, 25-22, 25-17.

The next bracket game was against the St Louis Panthers JV B. This was no ordinary JV team. The team turned out to be a dynamic and scrappy middle school team playing up a division.

The Panthers played error-free volleyball and held off rallies by the Saints to win the match. The score was 22-25, 21-25.

There was no rest for the Saints after their only loss of the tournament. They played their next game immediately after.

In the game for third place the Saints met up with their buddy team the Omaha Lightning JV. The day before the two teams exchanged gifts and cheered for each other in pool games, but those good vibes turned into fierce competition.

The Saints took the first set convincingly, then the Lightning jumped out to a lead that they didn’t give up to win the second set.

The Saints regained their composure and won the third set convincingly to take third place at nationals!

For the last match of the day the Saints played Elevate Varsity. The Saints won the first set 25-16, and almost won the second set, but it ended in a questionable net call, 23-25.
