The Saints hosted the Guardians of John Paul II at FORCE Gym.
This was the Saints second home game of the season. Both JV and Varsity brought a one game winning streak into the evening’s games.
JV
The Saints JV team started out the night strong with setter Gabby Enriquez serving for 10 straight points that were a mix of aces and strong play by the defense.
The Saints hitters combined for several kills to close out the set 25-14
After switching sides of the court the Guardians started off the second set with three points before the Saints serve receive got a side out.
The Saints went for an 11 point run causing a Guardian timeout.
After the timeout both teams exchanged a mix of 6 points a piece before the Saints closed out the set 25-13.

Varsity
The Saints Varsity team brought high energy with them into FORCE gym.
The Guardians combined a strong blocking front and solid error-free play to pull out to an eight point lead. That pre-match Saints energy seemed to be fully depleted after dropping the first two sets 19-25 and 22-25.
But, the Saints dug deep and held on to win the third set 25-22.
“So you’re saying there’s a chance!” joked Dom Vega behind the home bleachers.
In a sure-fire ESPN top 10 play, Nessa Burton showed some Golden Boot award skills for keeping a ball up using her foot where the Saints eventually won the point, electrifying the home crowd.
The Saints didn’t give up the new found momentum as they won the fourth set 25-15 to equalize the match and force a fifth set.
The fifth set was all Saints as they didn’t allow the Guardians to go on a run longer than two points, and closed out the match with a 15-9 fifth set win.
“The girls put themselves together and found a way to make it work! Such a great life lesson!” Head Coach Edie Miller said in a message.
All three Saints teams will travel to Spring Texas this weekend to participate in the annual CHSM Invitational Tournament.
